ELASTIFRET
How guitarists stretch.
Record yourself soloing over backing tracks. ELASTIFRET listens to how you play, then gives you practical suggestions for what to work on next. When you're ready, it listens again to measure your progress.
For lead players, from your first pentatonic box on.
ELASTIFRET is designed for guitarists who want to advance their soloing skills. Whether you're just starting or you're a more experienced player, ELASTIFRET provides a truly awesome experience.
If you're just starting out — we help you get the ball rolling with the fundamentals. We start with an overview lesson familiarizing yourself with the fretboard. Then we break it down into short lessons focused on individual parts of the fretboard. Essentially, we give you the building blocks to practice and stretch your playing to the next level.
If you're a more experienced player — ELASTIFRET will point you to our library of backing tracks where you can begin to play for fun, or record yourself playing. When you record three 60-second Takes, we'll have enough information to deliver your baseline Soundprint.
A Soundprint is essentially a printout of your unique style of playing. ELASTIFRET analyzes what recurs across your three Takes — the gestures you return to, how your phrases are shaped, whether your lines connect or separate, how you approach a sustained note. Each observation comes with the evidence from your own recordings, so you can hear what it heard.
Once ELASTIFRET delivers your Soundprint, it will also share "Stretch Exercises" tailored to your specific "Zone of Proximal Development", or ZPD. For instance, if you're just starting out… ELASTIFRET won't listen and then recommend you jump to pinch harmonic dive bombs. Your ZPD is an attainable next step for you to stretch into.
Then, just wash, rinse and repeat and before you know it, you'll be shredding the axe with the greats. Or with your friends, which is just as fun.
